Cadence does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no servers — everything you enter stays on your iPhone.
Cadence is a gig-income and expense tracker for working musicians. It runs entirely on your device. It has no user accounts, makes no network requests of its own, and includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. Nothing you type or photograph is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
The app stores the records you create — gigs, venues, dates, income, expenses, tours, notes, mileage, recurring schedules, and your display name — in a private database inside the app on your iPhone. We have no ability to read it.
If you use receipt scanning, Cadence asks permission to use your camera, or lets you choose an existing photo. Those images are saved inside the app on your device and are used only to attach a receipt to an expense.
Text recognition happens entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device Vision framework. Receipt photos are never uploaded, and Cadence does not access your photo library beyond the individual images you explicitly choose.
If you allow notifications, Cadence schedules reminders locally on your device — the morning after a recurring gig, so you can confirm what you earned. These are generated on the device itself. There is no push server.
Cadence offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks premium features. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Cadence never sees or stores your payment details, billing address, or Apple Account information — it only receives confirmation from Apple that a purchase exists.
The export feature creates a PDF and CSV of your own records on your device and hands them to the iOS share sheet. Where those files go — email, Files, a message to your accountant — is entirely your choice. Cadence does not transmit them anywhere on its own.
If you have iPhone backups enabled, your Cadence data may be included in your device backup, the same as other apps. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and are controlled by you in your device settings. We have no access to them.
We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your information — because we never receive it in the first place. There are no third-party SDKs in this app.
Cadence is a general-audience finance tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
You can delete individual gigs, expenses, and receipts inside the app at any time. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes all of its data from your device.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
